Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Check and Log, the digital food safety compliance platform operated by Wisecoda Ltd (Company No. 15711637), registered in England and Wales ("we", "us", "our").

By creating an account, subscribing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Check and Log is a cloud-based digital food safety management system designed for businesses to record, store and manage food hygiene and safety compliance records in accordance with UK food safety law.

The Service includes the web application, mobile apps (when available), APIs, and any related documentation.

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of your business.

The Service is intended for business users only. Consumer rights (including the 14-day cooling-off period) do not apply.

You must register using accurate business information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You must immediately notify us at info@checkandlog.com if you suspect any unauthorised use.

Access to the Service requires a paid subscription. Current pricing is displayed on our website and in-app.

• All prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable.
• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance via Stripe.
• Plans automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• We may change pricing with 30 days’ notice.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store full payment card details.

Failure to pay may result in immediate suspension of access. Suspended accounts retain stored food safety records for 90 days, after which they may be permanently deleted.

You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings or by emailing us.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial or pro-rata refunds are provided.

There are no refunds for any reason — the Service begins immediately upon subscription.

You are solely responsible for:

• Entering accurate and complete food safety records
• Ensuring your business complies with all applicable food safety laws
• Using the Service only for lawful purposes
• Not sharing account access with unauthorised users
• Not attempting to reverse-engineer, copy, or interfere with the Service

Important: Check and Log is a record-keeping tool only. It does not provide legal advice, training, or guarantee compliance. You remain fully responsible for food safety at your premises.

We retain your food safety records for a minimum of 2 years after your last activity (in line with Food Standards Agency guidance), even if you cancel your subscription.

You may export your records at any time in CSV or PDF format. After 2 years of inactivity, records may be anonymised or deleted.

All rights in the Service (software, design, branding, documentation) are owned by Wisecoda Ltd.

We grant you a limited, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service during your active subscription.

You must not:

• Use the Service to store false, misleading, or fraudulent records
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or systems
• Interfere with the operation of the Service (e.g. DDoS, scraping)
• Remove or alter any copyright or proprietary notices
• Use the Service in violation of any law

We aim for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes.

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• The Service is provided “as is” without warranties
• We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or business losses (including regulatory fines)
• Our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months

We are not responsible for your failure to comply with food safety laws, even if caused by Service downtime or data loss.

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or misuse.

Upon termination, your licence ends immediately. Food safety records remain available for export for 90 days.

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you by email or in-app notice.

Continued use after changes means you accept them. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
