How to Train Baristas on Food Safety Without Boring Them to Death

Baristas hate food-safety training because it usually feels like a lecture from someone who’s never pulled a shot in rush hour.

The method that works every time is 4 screens, 4 minutes total:

Screen 1 (30 sec): “This is why we care” — quick photo of a real 3-star rating sticker on a competitor’s door. Screen 2 (90 sec): “Fridge goes above 8 °C → tap red button → move milk → done.” Live demo. Screen 3 (60 sec): “Customer asks about nuts → open allergen matrix → read exactly what it says.” Live demo. Screen 4 (60 sec): Three-question quiz. They can’t start their shift until they get 3/3.

Takes four minutes, zero slides, zero eye-rolling. Every new barista finishes it before their first latte, and you have a dated training record forever.
