The FSA quietly updated the Safer Food, Better Business (SFBB) pack in late 2025. If you’re still using a 2023 or 2024 printed version, it is officially obsolete.

New mandatory sections:

1. Corrective actions — every time something goes wrong (temperature, pest sighting, etc.) you must now record what was done and when. 2. Management checking — proof the manager/supervisor reviews records at least weekly. 3. Supplier verification — evidence you’ve checked your main suppliers are approved/audited.

EHOs started enforcing the new layout from January 2026. Old folders instantly fail the “documented food safety management system” part of the inspection.

Digital systems updated automatically. Paper users are printing 40 new pages and hoping staff actually use them.
